One a week for the month of October

How To Solve Your Own Murder

Frances Adams always believed she’d be murdered, and decades later, she is.

In 1965, a fortune-teller predicted Frances’s death, and she spent her life collecting secrets and trying to prevent it. No one believed her until she was found murdered nearly sixty years later.

Now, her great-niece Annie arrives at Frances’s estate and uncovers a village full of suspects. Can she solve the mystery before it’s too late?

The Secret Book and Scone Society

Visitors come to Miracle Springs seeking healing from its hot springs, luxury spa, and famous cuisine. When these don’t work, many turn to Nora Pennington’s bookstore, where she offers comfort through a perfectly chosen book, paired with a fresh-baked scone. But when a businessman seeks her help and is found dead before their meeting, Nora is shocked.

Determined to uncover the truth, Nora forms the Secret, Book, and Scone Society—a group of women with troubled pasts who share their darkest secrets. Together, they untangle the mystery behind the man’s death while finding strength and sisterhood.

The Thursday Murder Club

In a quiet retirement village, four friends form the Thursday Murder Club to discuss unsolved crimes. But when a developer is found dead with a strange photo by his body, they find themselves in the midst of a real investigation.

As more victims are found, the group must use their wit and teamwork to catch the killer before time runs out.

The Antique Store Detective

Bella Winter moves to Hope Eaton for a peaceful life running her antique shop. But when local historian Professor Oliver Barton is found dead, Bella’s quiet life is shattered. Initially believed to be an accident, her colleague John suspects foul play after receiving a rare coin from the professor.

As Bella investigates, she discovers the professor was hunting for treasure and had mentioned four mysterious women, the “queens of hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades.” With a growing list of suspects, including treasure hunters and the professor’s family, Bella must solve the case before she becomes the next target.

Death Comes To Marlow

Judith, along with Becks the vicar’s wife and Susie the dogwalker, finds herself caught in a puzzling country house murder mystery.

Sir Peter Bailey invites locals to his home for a pre-wedding celebration, and Judith attends. But the party takes a dark turn when Sir Peter is found crushed to death in his locked study. The police rule it a suicide, but Judith suspects otherwise.

I have already read How To Solve Your Own Murder, the first book on this list, and you can check out my book review of it here. The other 4 books are all on my own personal TBR list. I can’t wait to settle in with one of these cozy mystery books on a chilly fall day.
