Are you a beginner houseplant lover who’s just starting to buy some plants for your home? Maybe you have a friend who has a jungle of plants in their home and you love the look of them all in your friends house. Do you want to bring some of that green into your own home but you’re not sure you can keep them alive?

This post will give you 3 of the easiest houseplants you can get to give you some ideas where to start your own indoor jungle.

Pothos Plants-

Pothos plants are my absolute favorite houseplant. They are literally so easy to care for! I have had my oldest pothos plant for about 3 years now and she’s doing great. One of the things I love about Pothos plants is the variety. There are so many different variations of Pothos plants that look slightly different but are still so easy to take care of and grow.

When I first got into plants I didn’t know much about them so I didn’t give my first Pothos plants any plant food or anything for the first like good year, (literally just water and sun) and they still did perfectly fine. I like to give them a little plant food now occasionally(this is the kind I use) but Pothos are my personal top recommendation for a first plant for beginners. Snake Plant-

Snake plants are another great option for beginners. If you’re forgetful about watering, this one could be great for you. They don’t like to be watered more than every 2 weeks typically, and they don’t need a lot of sunlight. My mom got me a snake plant about 2 years ago as a gift. I brought it home and shortly after noticed it had a little baby snake plant growing in the same pot. I separated it into a new pot and now have 2 snake plants in my home. I water them every couple of weeks or so and keep them in pretty bright but indirect sunlight. You can check out proper care tips for a Snake Plant here.

ZZ Plant-

A ZZ plant is my newest addition to my indoor jungle. I got it about 3 months ago, off of a plant clearance rack, and it definitely makes the list for easier plants. They only like to be watered about every 3-4 weeks, which makes it a perfect plant for forgetful people (like myself). ZZ plants prefer lower indirect light, so stick it somewhere in a room with a window, but farther away from the window. You can check out this post here to learn more about how to care for your ZZ Plant.

I like to give all of my plants some plant food occasionally as directed according to the instructions. This is the kind that I like to get, but there are plenty of great options out there.

I hope these gave you some ideas of which plant you want to buy first for your home. I think plants are a cute way to add some color in to your home. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite/ easiest houseplant is in the comments below.
